One
of the greatest events The Potters House involves itself in
are the outreaches we do. Many years ago the Walthamstow Church
made a commitment to be involved in not just our own organised
Saturday evangelism, ( I say organised evangelism because
many members of the Church are relentless in their pursuit
of souls, at work, on the buses and tube, on the way home
from work, at the Mother and toddler groups, at the school
gate etc) but we decided to take what we call impact teams
to other churches in the fellowship around England.
Hardly a week goes
past without Walthamstow sending out a team and this goes
back to the early years of the Church.
I believe this is one of the keys to our own revival. The
frequency of these teams have increased, to the point where
we send out two teams nearly every week.
We have purchased two lovely minibuses to transport the teams
and each Saturday they set out to embark on a day of witnessing,
street preaching, door knocking, ending up with an event in
the evening to draw people to so they can hear testimonies,
listen to some live music, see a film, but most importantly
hear a clear Gospel message with the opportunity to respond
to the call of Jesus Christ.
Come
snow, rain or shine our teams go out and one of the highlights
of our services back at base, is to hear the reports of what
God is doing around our nation.
We are grateful for all those who give up their Saturdays
to involve themselves in this ministry, who knows how many
thousands have been saved as a result.
